From Wanaka Airport we climb up over rugged tussock sheep grazing country to the white glistening snow-capped mountains of the Pisa Range, rich in gold mining history from the mid 1800’s, for a snow landing at over 6500 ft.
The 360° vista gives you breathtaking views as far as Dunedin, Mt Aspiring and Mt Cook. After a few snowball fights, and depending on your flight option we then descend off the Pisa Range back to the airport or, if on the Aspiring Max flight, down the Cardrona Valley, over Wanaka township for another high alpine landing with spectacular views of Lake Wanaka, Mt. Aspiring and the Southern Alps, then back to the airport.
*These particular Snow Landing flights are seasonal – Winter only. Please inquire regarding other flights that may be available for snow and glacier landings outside of our winter season.
