An amazing alpine flight with a high altitude landing that explores Mount Aspiring (Tititea), the glaciers and the National Park.
Fly over the pristine clear blue waters of Lake Wanaka, past islands that are remnants of the last glacial period over 25000 years ago, to make a high altitude landing amongst the impressive mountain grandeur near Mt. Aspiring. This landing site is snow-covered for 9 months of the year. We then fly on to see close up, cascading cliffs of compressed blue ice, deep crevasses, steep, short hanging glaciers plus long winding glaciers up to 10 km long, waterfalls, sheer rock faces, and native forest.
The Aspiring Max flight crosses the Main Divide to circumnavigate Mt. Aspiring, allowing you to see many more glaciers and impressive glacial ice with views as far as the West Coast and the Tasman Sea. There is so much unspoilt nature and glacial wonders to see on this flight that it will be difficult to take it all in!
